Liquor Box rents only commercial grade margarita machines.  These are the highest quality and most reliable frozen drink machines in the industry.  We use only real fruit purees for our mixes, resulting in a fruitier, more refreshing and natural tasting beverage.  

Since all of our rental machines contain dual chambers, many customers use one side for frozen beverages containing alcohol and the other side for non-alcoholic frozen drinks such as slushees.  Alcoholic beverages are available for purchase separate from the machine rental fees.

Frequently Asked Questions

How far in advance should I book my machine?
We recommend at least two weeks in advance of your event.  Call or come by our retail store to reserve your machine.  Remember our machines rent quickly for holiday parties, football games, weddings, and other special events.
   
Do you require a cash deposit to reserve a machine?
Yes, at the time you sign our rental agreement and reserve a rental date we require a $150.00 deposit to be secured by credit card or cash.  The deposit is refundable provided all the terms and conditions of the rental agreement are meet and the machine is returned in good working condition without damage.
 
When is payment for the machine due?
Rental payments must be paid in full by credit card or cash 72 hours (3 days) prior to machine being picked-up.  We do not accept payment by check for machine rentals or deposits.

What about cancellations?
We require 72 hours (3 days) notice for cancellations in order for your deposit to be refunded.  Deposits are non-refundable without providing this required notice via e-mail.
 
How many drinks does each batch yield?
One batch (one chamber of the two chamber machine) yields 60 - 70 8oz. drinks (4.5 gallons).  We suggest making two batches (using both chambers) for 100 guests.  Keep both standby reservoirs filled and you will be making margaritas all night long.
   
Do I need ice to make frozen margaritas or slushees?  How long does it take to freeze?
No you do not need to use any ice with this machine.  All you do is add the concentrate mix, water, and alcohol of choice.  The machine freezes the mix in about 45 minutes if all the ingredients are pre-chilled.  The machine has a refrigerated back-up reservoir that eliminates the waiting time between frozen batches.  Using both chambers gives you two ready to serve frozen batches and two standby batches. 

Is the machine easy to operate?
Yes.  We will provide you with all the instructions and will show you how to mix the batches and fill the standby reservoirs.  You will need to make sure to turn off and unplug the machine when it runs out of mix or when the party is over (whichever comes first).
 
When can I pick-up the machine?
Generally, you can pick-up the machine on the day of the rental between 12pm - 2pm and return the machine the next day between 2pm - 4pm.  We will schedule the pick-up and return times that are convenient to you at the time the rental agreement is signed.  We do NOT deliver the machine.   

What are the electrical requirements for the machine?
You will need an electrical outlet with a 3 pronged plug with a dedicated standard 110 circuit with 15 amps.  Nothing else should be on this circuit or else the machine will NOT work.  This is critical!  Also, pick a location for the machine to operate that is within 5 feet of an electrical outlet.  The machine can not be plugged into an extension cord.  Most of our machine problems are caused by the machine sharing a circuit with another device.  These are commercial grade machines and must have a dedicated circuit with a ground. 

Do you rent any single barrel machines?
No.  We find that for most high volume parties, weddings or special events, the larger capacity dual chamber machines are much more efficient and provide less waiting time between frozen batches.  When one batch is empty, another is ready to serve.  The dual chambers are also handy in those situations where the host of the party wants to serve both alcoholic and non-alcoholic frozen beverages.  You also have the flexibility to use just one side of the machine if you prefer.

If I am making frozen margaritas, will I need to purchase the tequila, etc.?
Yes.  You can purchase the tequila (or any other alcohol) from us.  You will receive a 10% discount on alcohol purchased for use with our machines.

I intend to have a pool party, is the machine safe for outside use in the summer?
We recommend that the machine be kept inside to assure maximum performance and consistence of your frozen drink.  However, if it must be outside it should be kept in the shade with lots of ventilation space around it during daytime operation.  The unit must be plugged into a dedicated circuit without extension cords.  Of course, keep it away from direct access to the pool, direct sunlight or rain. 

What flavors of mix do you offer?
We have 18 flavors of mix available for use with or without alcohol.  Our top shelf margarita mix is the most popular.  Other popular flavors are strawberry margarita, daiquiri, pina colada, peach bellini, cherry-limeade, mocha cappuccino and vanilla malt icee.

Do the mix concentrates contain alcohol?
No.  The mixes do not contain alcohol.  As a result, you can make non-alcoholic fruit slushees for the kids using our mixes.  Since our machines have two chambers, one side can be used for one flavor and the other side for another flavor.  Of course you can always add alcohol to one chamber for the adults and have the other chamber available for slushees or malts for the kids.

What is the cost for additional mix concentrates?  Are mixes returnable?
Most mix concentrates are $18.50 each plus tax for a half-gallon bottle.  When mixed with water (or alcohol) one bottle of concentrate makes one batch (enough for one chamber of the machine).  Any unopened bottles of mix concentrate are returnable. 

How much tequila do I need for one batch of frozen margaritas?
We recommend 3 liters of tequila per batch (one chamber of the machine).
 
If I rent the machine can I move it to another location?
No.  In fact the rental agreement provides a $500 charge if the machine is moved to another location other than where it is delivered.

How do you avoid providing alcoholic drinks to minors?
Liquor Box is licensed by the TABC and we are very strict on making sure that alcohol is served in a responsible manner.  We suggest that you have a TABC certified bartender to draw and serve any alcoholic beverage at private parties.  Otherwise, the responsible party who signs the rental agreement is responsible for making sure that alcoholic beverages are not being served to minors or intoxicated persons on the property where the machine is located.  Liquor box is not liable for any violations of the law or other provisions of the rental agreement regarding the prohibition of alcoholic beverages being served to minors or intoxicated persons.

Can you provide me with a copy of the rental agreement?
Yes.  Please call come by our retail store and we will be glad to provide you with a copy.  Make sure you read and understand the agreement before renting a machine.  The agreement is a legally binding contract.  You must be at least 21 years of age to rent the machine.
